Profeco contract
A pre construction home purchase in Mexico is documented by an adhesion contract registered with Profeco, the federal consumer protection agency. You have the right to read it in full before you sign and before you hand over any money.
What it is
An adhesion contract is one the seller drafts and the buyer accepts without negotiating its clauses. That is why the law requires it to be registered with Profeco, which checks it for abusive terms.
What to insist on, always
The full contract, in writing, in Spanish, before you sign and before you pay a reservation.
The Profeco registration number printed on the contract itself. Without that number the document is not registered.
That the amounts, the handover date, the floor area and the home number match exactly what you were offered.
How to get it
Write to ventas@EKPM.com.mx or call 999 351 2575, tell us which home you are considering, and the sales team will send you the current contract to read in your own time, with no obligation and no charge.
This page describes the document and how to ask for it. It is not the contract and does not replace it.
